Thursday State News Briefs: DNR has no plans to regulate frac-sand mining

-- DNR officials say they have no plans to propose statewide limits on mining a special type of sand that makes it easier to drill for oil-and-gas. They told the Natural Resources Board yesterday that current regulations on frac-sand mining are enough to protect public health.
