New snow adds moisture to parched southern Minnesota fields

-- The first significant snow of the season is fell across southern Minnesota Friday. University of Minnesota Extension Educator Liz Stahl of Worthington says it doesn't add a tremendous amount of moisture, but every bit helps Typically about ten to 12 inches of snow equals about an inch of rain.
