Letter:Mining studies insufficient so far

There was an alarming flaw in the logic of DNR regional hydrologist Jeff Green's presentation Jan. 4 to Goodhue County Silica Sand Mining Study Committee. After chastising those who would compare apples and oranges in mining impacts, Green proceeded to apply his findings — that limestone and gravel mining have minimal impacts on hydrology and water quality — to the analysis with which the mining committee has been charged.
