Schools put lockdown plans into action

LAKE CITY — School Supt. Craig Junker received a call from local police just before 9 a.m. Monday recommending he put both of the elementary and high schools in lockdown. A police officer responding to a domestic disturbance had been shot in the head; authorities believed the shooter retreated into a house, but they weren’t sure.
