Letter: Law could remove ‘duty to retreat’

Thousands of law-abiding citizens, homeowners, their families and gun owners were deeply disappointed in Governor Dayton’s veto of House File 1467 on March 5, 2012 – an omnibus bill that included a number of needed firearms law reforms in Minnesota. This bill passed both chambers of the Minnesota legislature with broad bipartisan support. The operative words here are “broad” and “bipartisan.”
