Toys for Tots “elves” at work

Published 12/17/2011, Park Rapids Enterprise

The Eagles Club became Santa’s workshop this week, members of the Antique Tractor and Engine Club preparing food and gift baskets for 150 families benefiting from their annual Toys for Tots initiative. Each family receives clothing, new toys and quilts, area clubs donating approximately 125 quilts this year. All the donations – “$2,500 and tons of toys” – remain in the community, Wilbur Norman reports. Edie Branstrom, dressed as an elf, and Jim Johnson, above, prepare toys for the sleigh.
