Northwoods Triathlon has 10th annual success despite road work

Part of the race was rerouted due to the Highway 34 construction and heavy bypass traffic on County Road 18. Bicycle riders sped along the Heartland Trail while a platoon of volunteers stood at dangerous spots to ensure their safety. And despite their desire to win, each rider paused briefly to thank those volunteers. There were no major traffic or congestion incidents associated with the event, which placed both runners and bicyclists on the Trail at one point in the race. Event organizers took time to brief all 356 participants before they set off.Word count: 0
