Girl Scouts send cookies to soldiers

Published 04/16/2011, Park Rapids Enterprise

Brownie Troop 407 Scouts met with Blue Star Mothers president Connie Carmichael to give her Girl Scout cookies to send to soldiers. Carmichael also told the girls about Blue Star Mothers and about her son, Logan, who is serving overseas. The girls collected 36 boxes of Girl Scout cookies for soldiers. These boxes, along with a few from other troops, were brought to the Eagles Club in Park Rapids recently and packaged up by the organization Operation Minnesota Nice. These cookies should reach the soldiers by Easter. The patch the girls worked on was called Support from the Heart. The girls will also be making “Thinking of You” cards for our troops and working with the Blue Star Mothers in the near future to place the Yellow Ribbons around trees to demonstrate military support.
