300 pillowcases were made by local seamstresses in the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge a fabric vendor instituted for a national charity project. Pillowcases were donated to Heartland Homes, Kinship, Living at Home, Hubbard County Social Services clients and abuse victims. “People here were very active, very generous,” she said. Monika’s in Park Rapids donated some of the materials; seamstresses brought their own. The project started in January.
