Bemidji, Walker mayors cut ribbon for Paul Bunyan Trail connection

Walker Mayor Brad Walhof and Bemidji Mayor Richard Lehmann, at center with scissors, cut the ribbon Saturday as they officially opened the Paul Bunyan Trail from Guthrie to Walker. The ceremony was held at the Guthrie Community Center and focused on the 19-mile section of trail that opened earlier this spring. The ceremony included a ride to Walker and honored Gayle Quistgard with the “Wheels of Progress” plaque for her years of trail advocacy. Pioneer Photo/Monte Draper
