Fourth graders pedal out to meet the cows

Tutored on feed, milking equipment and the science of healthy cows, last week fourth graders toured Gartner’s farm. Beginning in the calf barn, Amber Schroeder making a calf’s acquaintance, the tour continued via hayride to see the crops and equipment used for harvest and the giant cow food storage bags. A sampling of dairy treats capped their day. “The smiles on the faces of each child let the Gartners know that they and their work are valued and appreciated,” teacher Barb Babine reports.
