Quality of public lands high in state

While many other western states such as Colorado, Wyoming and Montana are rich with public land that is open to hunting, fishing and a variety of other uses, North Dakota is not so fortunate. Among the state’s 45 million total acres, less than one half of 1 percent is managed by the State Game and Fish Department.
