Letter to the editor: House panel did the right thing in funding screenings

On April 7, legislators from both parties in the House Appropriations Committee passed amendments making cancer screening a priority, specifically to fund Women’s Way and colorectal cancer screening programs. Scientific research tells us that the prognosis for breast cancer, cervical cancer, and colon cancer is excellent if caught early. The fight against these diseases benefits tremendously from early detection.Word count: 113
