Coal county joins oil counties group

One of the main counties in North Dakota coal country is the newest member of the state’s oil patch. Mercer County has joined the North Dakota Association of Oil and Gas Producing Counties. It’s the 17th county to belong and the first new member in decades. Its first and only oil well is in the far western part of the county.Word count: 104
