Instructor focuses on rangeland health in his summer post

Paying attention to the health of North Dakota’s rangeland will pay off financially for livestock producers. That’s the bottom line of a message the NDSU Central Grasslands Research Center in Streeter is spreading, thanks to a one-year, $20,000 grant from the North Dakota Natural Resources Trust and Ducks Unlimited. Chuck Lura, extension rangeland specialist, took the summer off from teaching biology, botany and range management at Minot State University, Bottineau, N.D., to help advance a rangeland research program that began in 2005.Word count: 479
