The date was Sept. 8, 1991, and pitching gems from Kevin Tapani (one run allowed on seven hits in eight innings in a 3-1 win) and Jack Morris (two runs on four hits in 8 2/3 innings in a 3-2 10-inning win) put the Twins in a position even they may have taken for granted.
