The North Dakota contest for an open U.S. House seat is shaping up to be the big political story of the next few months — for Republicans, that is. Five hopefuls have announced their intentions to seek the party’s endorsement next spring. They want to fill the seat being vacated by first-term Congressman Rick Berg, R-N.D., who is leaving the House to run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D.
