Herbert receives humanitarian award

Dana (Poseley) Herbert, Hanover, Md., daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle Poseley of Jamestown, recently received the prestigious Fannie Lou Hamer Humanitarian Award at ceremonies held Oct. 2 at St. John’s College in Annapolis, Md. Fannie Lou Hamer was a feminist and civil rights activist who gave a speech at the 1964 National Democratic Convention addressing voting rights of African Americans.
