Canoeist’s body found in Boundary Waters

Published 06/14/2011, The Jamestown Sun

The body of a 23-year-old Janesville, Wis., man missing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is believed to have been found in about 90 feet of water in Swan Lake, but has not yet been recovered. Ty Sitter hadn’t been seen since Thursday evening when he left his father and brother at their campsite on the lake to go fishing. When he didn’t return, they found his canoe upright and unoccupied with about 4 inches of water in it. His life jacket, tackle box and fishing net were there, but his fishing pole was missing.
