Conrad concerned for rural N.D. post offices

With the U.S. Postal Service weighing the closure of up to 2,000 post offices nationwide, Democratic Sen. Kent Conrad said he’s worried for the future of North Dakota’s rural communities. In a meeting Monday with Postmaster General Patrick R. Donahoe, Conrad urged Donahoe to gather input from affected communities and to study the impact a closing would have, before any final decisions are made.Word count: 324
