Adventures in Christmas trees

Coghlan Island is located in Auke Bay just west of Juneau, Alaska, and on that island is a slash in the Sitka spruce trees where many years ago someone did some logging. The trees that grew back are dog-hair thick and free for the taking, so that’s where we made our plans to cut our Christmas tree.
