Dog sled event set for FrazeeFRAZEE, Minn. -- This city will go to the dogs next weekend as the area celebrates the sixth annual Third Crossing Sled Dog Rendezvous.
The event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the usual site off Old County Hwy. 10 at the east U.S. Highway 10 exit to Frazee.
The rendezvous main focus is its open race, with no limit on the number of dogs pulling each sled. For the last two years, the event has had the largest open sprint race in the world.
At least 100 entries -- including some from Alaska -- are expected this year.
Frazee Sled Dog Club President Heidi Brune said sufficient snow this year should make the event even better.
Were thrilled to have the ground cover, she said. Its the most weve had for years.
Admission is free. Those who cant attend can follow the action on 88.1 FM. Concessions, a warming facility and parking with a race view will be available.
