Shiek’s shutout helps Bruins to win in a split

GRAND FORKS – Sydney Shiek allowed four hits and struck out seven in a complete-game shutout as Fargo South defeated Grand Forks Red River 7-0 in the first game of an Eastern Dakota Conference softball doubleheader Monday.

Lea Steinke had a two-run triple for the Bruins (2-11) in Game 1.

The Roughriders bounced back with a 10-0 win in Game 2 thanks to a grand slam by Meghan Ramage, who finished with three hits and six RBIs in the nightcap.
