West Fargo reminds residents of sump pump dischargesWEST FARGO - Homeowners here should be discharging sump pump water outdoors and not into the sanitary sewer system, the city says.
West Fargo City Ordinance 9-0328 requires sump pumps to discharge water outdoors and not into the sanitary sewer. Discharging sump pump water into the sanitary sewer system can overload the system resulting in sewage back-up and damage to your residence.
Homeowners are reminded to inspect the discharge hose to ensure water is being drained away from the foundation of their homes.
