Comparing Google Street View images for a F-M flashback experience

Our community has grown so fast, it’s hard to remember how streets and neighborhoods looked just a few years ago.

Get ready for a flashback.

Google recently released a new feature of its Street View that allows users to go several years back in time, at least on most major thoroughfares in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

The Forum put together a few images to remind you just how much the metro has changed.

We’ll start on Broadway and Second Avenue North, where several buildings have received a facelift since 2007.

The revitalization of downtown Fargo continued just down the block.

It’s hard to even fathom that 32nd Avenue was a dirt road just seven years ago. You’ll see Scheels Arena pop up in the background.

Veteran’s Boulevard south of Interstate 94 looked like a rural county highway as recently as 2011.

And here’s the transformation of 52nd Avenue, with Wal-Mart in the background.

There’s been lots of development along southeastern Main Avenue in Moorhead.

In just two years, this area of Osgood has blossomed into a full-blown neighborhood

So too has this patch in Woodhaven.
