Review: Hand cream worth the few extra bucks
The Edina, Minn.-based company, which aims to produce 100 percent natural hand and foot creams, sent four 2-ounce jars, along with several small samples. But for a product that claims to be Earth-friendly, I was taken aback by the unnecessary packaging. The products were sent in a small cardboard box inside another large box with tons of paper. Granted, it was all recyclable, but still unnecessary.
I started by smelling each of the large samples, which included tangerine, cherry-almond and true lavender hand creams and spearmint foot cream. I’ve never been a fan of mint or florals, but I loved the cherry-almond and tangerine.
On the first go, I applied a small scoop of cherry-almond to my hands. It went on smooth, but it left my hands feeling a bit waxy.
The jar recommends applying a drop the size of a pearl. So, the second time I tried a little less. The cream left my hands feeling super soft and smooth, albeit a little waxy. And I’d take waxy over greasy any day. After a few uses, my knuckles were no longer cracked and dry.
The smell isn’t overwhelming. In fact, once it’s on your hands, it loses most of its scent.
But the products contain no parabens, lanolin, petrolatum, sulfates, oxy benzene or added color. Plus, they aren’t tested on animals, which are all major bonus points in my book.
The jars are $10 each (at KeepBuzzinBody
Products.com), which is a bit much for the size. But for a Minnesota-based company focused on environmentally friendly products, it’s definitely worth the few extra bucks.
Keep Buzzin’ Cherry-Almond Hand Cream might not by my new favorite, but it does the trick and leaves my hands feeling ultra smooth.
