North Dakota State wrestler takes FILA national title

LAS VEGAS – North Dakota State sophomore Josh Rodriguez, who sat out this season as a redshirt, won his 132-pound Greco-Roman weight class at the FILA Junior Nationals in Las Vegas last weekend. He also added a fifth-place finish in freestyle.

Competitors must be 19-years-old or younger.

Other NDSU finishers were: Tommy Peterson (third, Greco-Roman 212 pounds); Tommy Walton (fifth, Greco-Roman 132 pounds); and Mitch Friedman (seventh, Greco-Roman and eighth freestyle 139 pounds).

Two other NDSU wrestlers placed in the U.S. Open senior Greco-Roman division. Tyler Lehmann took seventh at 216 pounds and Matt Gray was eighth at 165.
