3 people injured in two-vehicle I-94 accident west of West FargoWEST FARGO -- Three people were injured Saturday morning in an interstate rollover accident involving two vehicles just west of here.
A 1997 green Ford Explorer and a 2004 silver Ford Mustang convertible were involved in the accident at 5:36 a.m. that started underneath an overpass for Exit 342 on Interstate 94. Both vehicles were eastbound.
Fargo men Senjur Berisa, 19, and Anthony Peter Volk Jr., 18, were hospitalized at Essentia Health in Fargo, as was an unnamed 17-year-old juvenile from Fargo, according to Cass County Sheriff's Office Cpr. Jade Van Den Einde.
All three hospitalized were traveling in the Explorer driven by 18-year-old Steven John Orvik of Fargo. Orvik was not injured, but was arrested and jailed on suspicion of DUI.
The driver of the Mustang, 19-year-old Amel Elfid Drocic of Fargo, was not injured.
Cpr. Van Den Einde said everyone involved in the accident knew each other. He said they were coming from a party in Cass County.
The Explorer clipped the Mustang near the Exit 342 overpass. Both vehicles drove up onto the angled concrete supports under the bridge. The Explorer then rolled over the Mustang and rolled another three times, ejecting Berisa, who was not wearing a seatbelt, Van Den Einde said.
Berisa was listed in stable condition on Saturday evening. As of 8:30 p.m., Volk was no longer a patient at Essentia.
