The Million Dollar Round Table Foundation has awarded a $3,500 grant to First Step Recovery of The Village Family Service Center, Fargo.
The grant will help people with free family therapy groups and referral services for people whose loved ones struggle with alcohol addiction and chemical dependency.
Ryan J. Botner of Fargo, representing the MDRT Foundation, presented the grant to The Village on April 10.
Fargo author donates book profits to charity
Author Marc de Celle has donated $500 each to 10 Fargo area charities with profits from his book, “Close Encounters of the Fargo Kind.”
The charities receiving the donations included: Ronald McDonald House of the Red River Valley, CHARISM, HERO, Red River Zoo, Jeremiah Program, Dakotas Region American Red Cross, Fargo Moorhead Rotary Foundation, Great Plains Food Bank, Mayville State University Foundation and Bras on Broadway.
Restaurants, food bank partner to fight hunger
The Great Plains Food Bank has received a $3,000 grant as part of the Restaurant Community Grants program from Darden Restaurants Foundation, the charitable arm of Darden Restaurants.
The donation will enable the Great Plains Food Bank to recover surplus perishable food and prepared meals from restaurants and other food industry partners and deliver it to food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters.
