Thief River Falls man faces charges in Marshall County high-speed chaseWARREN, Minn. - A Thief River Falls man led Marshall County deputies on a chase at more than 120 mph in a stolen car Monday, authorities said.
According to a news release from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Christian B. Potucek, 20, appeared Wednesday in district court in Warren on charges that include fleeing officers, receiving stolen property, driving drunk and driving without a valid license.
Around 2 p.m. Monday, the release said, the sheriff's office received a report of an erratic driver who had hit a car at a Cenex store in Warren and then went north on U.S. Highway 75.
Deputies pursued the driver to Argyle and then back to Warren, sometimes at speeds faster than 120 mph. Deputies called off the chase when they reached Warren to avoid danger to the public.
The department's investigation later found the car, identified as stolen from Pennington County, at a home near Radium and took Potucek into custody there.
His bond was set at $5,000. He remained in jail Wednesday afternoon.
