Hires and promotions (April 12)Lein named community development manager
The Arthritis Foundation Upper Midwest Region has named Jennifer Lein as community development manager representing North Dakota.
She will be responsible for the Walk to Cure Arthritis event in Bismarck and the Jingle Bell Run in Fargo. She will also provide leadership to the North Dakota board of directors, event committees, volunteers and creating relationships with local medical professionals, media and business leaders.
Lein is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in mass communications with an emphasis in integrated advertising and public relations. She was previously with Choice Financial Group in Fargo where she was a virtual banker and on the marketing committee representing the virtual branch.
Wanzek Construction in Fargo hires four
Wanzek Construction, Fargo, has hired Michael Zanella as civil operations manager, Kevin Lanners as information technology manager, Tina DeLaCruz as human resources and benefits administrator and Edward D. Grunenwald in business development.
Zanella has 28 years of experience in heavy civil, structures and design in the public and private sectors and has a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Washington State University. He was previously employed as an operations manager at Werner Construction.
Lanners has 18 years of information technology experience and has a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems and a master’s degree in business management, both from the University of Mary. He was previously employed as a systems analyst at Bell State Bank and Trust.
DeLaCruz has seven years of human resources experience in the areas of benefits administration and generalist roles and has a bachelor’s degree in business from Concordia College. She was previously employed as a HR/training coordinator at CoreLink Administrative Solutions.
Grunenwald has 35 years of technical sales experience. He was previously employed with Barnhart Renewables where he sold turbine erection services for community and utility wind projects.
RedHawks hire group sales coordinators
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks Baseball Club has hired Corey Eidem and Anna Rasmussen as group sales coordinators.
Eidem is a graduate of Minnesota State University Mankato. The Moorhead native previously worked in the fraud department at the U.S. Bank Service Center in Fargo and for the RedHawks during the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
Rasmussen is a graduate of Concordia College and is a native of Hutchinson, Minn. She was previously employed with the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball club, the Phoenix Coyotes hockey club and worked for the RedHawks during the 2012 season.
Cornerstone Bank hires mortgage loan officer
Roxanne Miller Fliginger has joined Cornerstone Bank as a mortgage loan officer at the branch on 45th Street South in Fargo.
She has over nine years of mortgage lending experience.
Midcontinent promotes Wagner, hires Perry
Midcontinent Communications, West Fargo, has promoted Danielle Wagner to technical support assistant and has hired Kevin Perry as a technical support representative.
Wagner joined Midcontinent Communications as a technical support representative in 2013.
Perry previously worked in logistics for Target and as a staff lead with Solutions Behavioral Healthcare.
McDonald promoted at Northwestern Bank
Northwestern Bank, Moorhead, has promoted Todd McDonald to business banking officer.
McDonald is a native of Fargo and is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. He has been with Northwestern Bank for five years, most recently as a credit analyst officer.
Lizakowski hired at DMS Health in Fargo
DMS Health Technologies, Fargo, has hired Tonia Lizakowski as the director of billing and contract management/compliance and privacy director.
She has more than 11 years of related experience in leadership of health information management. She has master’s degrees in health information management and information technology leadership from the University of St. Scholastica and bachelor’s degrees in health management and applied health from the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
Ailie joins sales team at Jack Chivers Realty
Marlys Ailie has joined the sales team at Jack Chivers Realty, Detroit Lakes, Minn.
Ailie is a Detroit Lakes native and has nearly 20 years of experience in real estate as owner of her own appraisal service.
Bonanzaville appoints interim director
Bonanzaville’s sales and marketing coordinator, Emily Wehlander, has been appointed interim director until an executive director is hired.
Wehlander has been with Bonanzaville since July. She is a graduate of North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
Intelligent InSites hires VP of engineering
Dan Schulz has joined Intelligent InSites, Fargo, as vice president of engineering.
Schulz has extensive experience leading software engineering teams, most recently at Appareo Systems, Fargo. He was also co-founder and vice president of engineering at Be-At-Home (now part of Echelon), and led research and engineering teams at Great Plains Software, IBM and Mayo Clinic.
He grew up on a farm near Edgeley, N.D., and graduated from Jamestown (N.D.) College with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and chemistry.
Regional operations director named at NHS
National Hospitality Services, Fargo, has appointed Lorri Brown as regional operations director. She will oversee daily operations for NHS’s 15 hotels across the country.
Before joining NHS, she was a quality consultant for Intercontinental Hotels Group. She is a graduate of Southern Illinois University.
Dawson Insurance hires Cherubin, Rud
Yves Cherubin and Mariah Rud have joined Dawson Insurance, Fargo, as commercial lines account assistants.
Cherubin will graduate in July from the University of Phoenix with an associate degree in business management, majoring in human resources. He previously worked as an operations manager for Walmart in Atlanta and as an office manager for Integrity Tax & Multi Services.
Rud graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies, advertising, and a minor in French. She recently moved to Fargo from Minneapolis where she was working with Access Partners in lead management.
Dakota Heritage Bank promotes 2, hires 1
Dakota Heritage Bank of North Dakota has hired Brittany Olson as a customer service representative/
internal auditor in the Hunter branch and Darci McCullough as a loan assistant in the Hope branch.
Dustin Nagel has been promoted to vice president/ag and commercial lending at the bank in Hillsboro.
Olson is a graduate of Mayville (N.D.) State University with a degree in business administration. She interned for Dakota Heritage Bank in Hillsboro. She is a native of Hunter.
McCullough is a graduate of Minnesota State Community and Technical College with a degree in accounting. She has previous banking experience.
Nagel has been with Dakota Heritage Bank since 2009, primarily in the lending department. He is a native of Hillsboro and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He is also a graduate on the Dakota School of Banking.
Choice Financial adds two new employees
Cally Colville and Stacey Ndugwa have joined Choice Financial in West Fargo as frontline customer service representatives.
Colville has experience in restaurant management and attended Minnesota State University Mankato.
Ndugwa has nearly 20 years of retail sales experience, most recently as assistant manager for David’s Bridal in West Fargo.
Nexus Innovations hires Piskacek, Bruley
Nexus Innovations, Fargo, has hired Jan Piskacek as a development consultant and Dave Bruley as a software developer.
Piskacek is a graduate of Concordia College with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and business and is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at North Dakota State University.
Bruley is a graduate of Jamestown (N.D.) College with a bachelor’s degree in management information science and business administration. He has been working in the software development field for 14 years with a primary development expertise of .NET development encompassing from small applications to large enterprise-level systems. He is also an application architect and expert.
Superior Manufacturing adds three in sales
Superior Manufacturing, Kindred, N.D., has added three new regional dealer representatives. They are: Stacy Miller, West Region; Clayton Stowers, East Region; and Frank Tomkinson, Midwest region.
Miller previously worked in truck sales for Big Iron for 15 years. He lives in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Stowers gained industry experience selling seed and crop insurance for two years, and prior to that worked on his family farm. He studied at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., and lives in Kirklin, Ind.
Tomkinson has five years of experience in the grain bin industry. He was previously owner of Tomkinson Bin Building, a Superior bin dealer, for two years. He also has nearly 15 years of experience in the residential and commercial construction industry. He lives in Clarinda, Iowa.
Fargo district makes administration changes
The Fargo Public School District has named Patricia Cummings director of special education and student support services and Amy Herrick assistant principal at Discovery Middle School.
Cummings will replace John Yates, who is retiring. Herrick has been serving as interim assistant principal at Discovery since November when she replaced Assistant Principal Michael Beaton, who became the assistant principal and activities coordinator at South High School.
Cummings has been the assistant principal at Carl Ben Eielson Middle School since 2012 and was the speech language pathologist at Carl Ben Eielson from 2006 to 2012 and the Asperger’s coach for the entire district. She has a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Herrick began her education career in 2002 as a visual arts instructor with the Fargo Public Schools. She has served as the art club adviser at South High and Discovery, Discovery international fun club adviser, Discovery summer school site administrator and girls track coach for three years, and as a mentor in the student teacher and practicum student program. She has a master’s degree in education administration, K-12 level and a bachelor’s degree in K-12 art education from MSUM.
Gate City Bank promotes five to AVP
Gate City Bank has promoted Laurie Kennedy, Julie Lamb, Lisa Liken, Janet Mindt and Rae Ann Schaan to assistant vice presidents.
Kennedy is the senior accountant at the bank’s corporate office in Fargo. A native of Valley City, N.D., she graduated from Valley City State University with a degree in business administration. She has worked for Gate City Bank for 30 years.
Lamb is the office manager at the Devils Lake, N.D., branch. A native of Petersburg, N.D., she earned a degree in human resource management from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Mary.
Liken is the senior mortgage loan officer at the bank’s Bismarck office. A native of Sioux Falls, S.D., Liken graduated from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, where she earned a degree in mathematics and a minor in business with an emphasis in finance. She has 21 years of experience in the financial industry.
Mindt is a customer service and sales supervisor at the bank’s West Fargo Veterans Boulevard office. She has been with Gate City Bank since 2004. Mindt received a degree in business administration from the University of Mary.
Schaan is the customer service and sales supervisor at the bank’s Williston office. A native of Williston, she has been with Gate City Bank since 2003.
Kluck promoted to residential specialist II
Rebecca Kluck has been promoted to residential specialist II at Centre Inc., Fargo.
She is a graduate of Minnesota State Community and Technical College with an associate degree in criminal justice and liberal arts.
Kluck has been with Centre Inc. for a year, previously as a residential specialist I.
HBA F-M hires Nogosek as events coordinator
The Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead has named Lindsey Nogosek as events coordinator.
She is a native of Broomfield, Colo., and graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a bachelor’s degree in communication. She has over seven years of professional experience in relationship management, sales and marketing.
Four promoted, 1 hired at Discovery Benefits
Discovery Benefits in Fargo has promoted Julie Swiontek to claims supervisor – benefits, Reid Messerschmidt to claims team lead – benefits, and Alicia Holowell and Garret Odle to claims team lead – partner. Lane Lunde has been hired as a systems support analyst.
Swiontek attended Concordia College and North Dakota State University. She began working at Discovery Benefits in 2008 as an account specialist. In 2010, she joined the claims team as a senior claims specialist before moving to the claims team lead role in 2012.
Messerschmidt attended Minnesota State University Moorhead, California State University, San Bernardino, and the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, where he studied English, mass communications and education. He started working at Discovery Benefits in 2011 as a consumer service specialist. He later joined the claims team as a specialist and moved to the claims specialist trainer position in 2013.
Holowell graduated with an associate degree in veterinary technology from the Minnesota School of Business. She joined Discovery Benefits in 2012 as a claims specialist.
Odle attended North Dakota State University and studied criminal justice. He joined Discovery Benefits in 2009 as a claims specialist.
