Wiz Khalifa to perform at UND's Spring Jam

GRAND FORKS - Famed rapper Wiz Khalifa will perform at the University of North Dakota’s annual Spring Jam on May 3 at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, according to the student-run University Programming Council.

Khalifa, who is originally from Minot, rose to fame in 2009 and is most famous for his song “Black and Yellow.” He also won “Best New Artist” at the 2011 BET Awards and has worked with other famous artists such as Beyonce, Drake, Maroon 5 and Empire of the Sun.

UND Student Senate allotted $160,000 for the event.

The concert is free to UND students with a valid student ID and $30 for the public through Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are available for students as of today at the Student Government Office in the Memorial Union. Public tickets will become available April 14 at 5 p.m. at the Alerus Center Box Office.
