Concordia to name baseball field in honor of Burgau

MOORHEAD – Concordia will name its baseball field in honor of baseball coach Bucky Burgau, who is retiring at the end of this season.

This is Burgau’s 36th season as head coach of the Cobbers.

The dedication ceremony will take place at 12:30 p.m. April 29.

“The decision to name the field in honor of Bucky was very easy,” says Rich Glas, Concordia athletics director. “Bucky is Cobber baseball. He is a remarkable coach and has been an incredible role model for hundreds of Cobber student athletes.”

Burgau is the all-time winningest coach in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball history.
