Man accused of soliciting minor via Internet; may be more victimsGLENWOOD, Minn. - A St. Louis Park man was charged Monday in Pope County with soliciting a minor for sex through social media.
The Pope County Sheriff’s Office, working with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and St. Louis Park police, executed a search warrant Friday at an address in the Twin Cities suburb and arrested Matthew Thomas Boos, 24.
The sheriff’s office said a three-month investigation led law enforcement to believe the man was soliciting a minor from Pope County -- in west-central Minnesota -- through social media.
On Monday, Boos was formally charged in Pope County Court with soliciting a child through electronic communication to engage in sexual conduct, and soliciting a child in person or by computer or Internet.
A judge set unconditional bail at $25,000 and conditional bail at $10,000.
Authorities believe there may be more victims. Parents who believe their child may have been solicited by Boos are asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.
