Weather Talk: We can hope this April will be better than 2013

Hopefully, April will do better than it did last time. One year ago today in Fargo-Moorhead, the morning low was 11 and the high was 31. Snow depth was 10 inches.

We still had another 4-inch snowfall April 11-12, followed by another 9 inches April 14-15. Another 3 inches fell April 17-18, and there was one last dusting April 24. Except for patches, we were unable to see the ground until April 26.

The average temperature for the month was more than 10 degrees below the long-term average. Total snow for the month was more than 16 inches (average is 3).

So last year, April was really just more winter than spring. Like I said, hopefully April will do better than it did last time.
