Letter: Appreciate work of Fargo policeI am writing to show my appreciation and gratitude for the Fargo Police Department and specifically Officer Grant Kendall.
On the morning of March 4, I woke up and discovered that my car had suffered from a hit and run. I called dispatch, and in about 10 minutes, Kendall showed up. He asked a few questions, wrote down some information and gave me advice on how to proceed. I was impressed with how sincere he was with my situation.
He went on to inspect the damage on the vehicle and to his (and my) surprise, he found part of a headlight and another piece of material that he believed belonged to the other car. He noticed that there were numbers on the headlight piece and said that he would do some research and let me know if he found anything. I came home from school later that day and my sister said, “You are so lucky, that officer found the person who hit your car!”
I did not believe her. I wanted to believe her, but I was afraid that it was too good to be true. Then I noticed a new voice mail, it was Kendall. He said he found the person. I was in shock. Miracles do happen.
Thanks to his detective instincts and professional commitment, I was able to avoid what would have been a major financial burden. I would like to see Kendall get recognized and commended for going above his call of duty.
