Choice Financial has donated $5,000 to the Dakotas Region of the American Red Cross in addition to donating volunteer hours to assist in filling shelter kits for the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation.
The kits allow shelters to be put in place if the Red Cross is unable to immediately assist.
Starion Financial supports youth program
Starion Financial recently participated in the Big Brother Big Sister’s Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraising event. Employees bowled in the event and also raised money by making a “jeans day” donation for BBBS.
In addition, Jody Ridl, Starion Financial credit analyst, was among the top five individual contributors for the event, raising more than $600.
Otter Tail ePay program benefits nonprofits
Otter Tail Power Co. customers now have an opportunity to reduce the amount of paper they receive via mail and benefit regional organizations that serve children, farmers, wildlife and the hungry.
By enrolling in the company’s ePay program, customers agree to receive electronic billing statements instead of paper statements. For each new enrollment, Otter Tail Power will donate $3 to help support a different nonprofit organization each quarter during the next 12 months. The organizations include: International Music Camp in North Dakota; Farm Rescue based in Jamestown, N.D.; Wild Turkey Federation in South Dakota; and North Country Food Bank, Crookston, Minn.
Junior Achievement receives contribution
Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest has received $1 million contribution from the Otto Bremer Foundation to establish the Otto Bremer Entrepreneurship Fund.
The fund is a multiyear initiative to promote entrepreneurship and its opportunities to students in Minnesota, North Dakota and western Wisconsin, with particular focus on vulnerable and immigrant populations.
