Fire destroys three recreational vehicles in HarwoodHARWOOD – Firefighters extinguished a blaze in a storage lot here that burned three recreational vehicles and a boat Thursday morning, according to fire officials.
About 7 a.m., dispatchers received several reports of a fire at Larson Storage at 120 U.S. Highway 81, just south of the firehouse, Harwood Fire Chief Marc Mosser said.
He said firefighters arrived to find two RVs and a large boat engulfed in flames. All three were destroyed, and a third RV was damaged.
Strong winds hampered efforts to extinguish the flames, and it took about 45 minutes to bring them under control, he said.
No one was in the RVs, which had been in storage for the winter, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but no foul play is suspected, the chief said.
