Sonic to set up shop on 45th StreetFARGO - Sonic Drive-In has found a place to park in Fargo.
The fast food chain will be located on 45th Street at 26th Avenue South, according to plans from the Fargo city planning office and a news release from local franchisee Abe Sakak.
It would be located immediately south of the Anderson Softball Complex. It will be constructed this summer.
The location will include carhop service and a drive-thru, as well as a “tricked out” dining room and outdoor patio, the release said.
The restaurant will begin its hiring process soon, with plans to hire about 120 employees and managers.
Sonic opened a location in Minot, N.D., last year, and announced plans to open in Fargo.
The Oklahoma-based chain has more than 3,500 drive-ins in 44 states, including five in Minnesota and three in South Dakota.
The restaurant has been long-awaited in the community, thanks in part to national commercials promoting the restaurant airing here.
Sonic’s menu items include sandwiches made with Texas toast, footlong hotdogs, onion rings and specialty drinks, such as its signature cherry limeade.
