Union State Bank to close West Acres branchFARGO – Union State Bank, a locally owned bank here, will close its West Acres Shopping Center branch June 30 and relocate all employees to their other two locations in Fargo.
Union State Bank was one of the original tenants at West Acres.
Upon analysis of customer usage, Union State Bank found most of their customers were not visiting the West Acres branch, and were instead driving to the 45th Street location, a news release from the bank stated.
Historically, a large percentage of the business done at the West Acres location was from merchants in the mall, the news release said.
Many merchants now see a majority of their payments done through credit or debit cards which are run through national accounts instead of cash which was run through Union State Bank.
West Acres is already in the process of leasing out the bank space to another merchant and hopes to announce the new tenant in the next few months, mall spokeswoman Alissa Adams said in the news release.
