Style Profile: NDSU senior pulls off effortless style
The 22-year-old North Dakota State University senior mixes classic pieces with modern updates to create a simple, relaxed bohemian look.
I spotted Stadum, who’s an intern with Fargo consulting firm Onsharp, looking ultra-cool in a flat-brimmed fedora hat and destroyed denim with suede booties.
Describe your style. Really relaxed. I like the minimalist look.
My style’s been changing since I’ve grown up.
What are you wearing today?
Gap jeans, a Forever 21 sweater, Ralph Lauren handbag, a hat given to me by a friend and suede booties.
Who are your style icons?
I like to look at what everyone wears and take pieces of it and apply it to my own style.
But, I’d have to say Gwyneth Paltrow has really great style.
Where do you shop?
The Gap, Loft and sometimes JCPenney.
What’s your favorite thing in your closet?
My sleeveless black maxi dress. I really like staple pieces.
Where do you seek style inspiration?
Instagram, Pinterest, my friends and The Sartorialist (a fashion blog by New-York based photographer Scott Schuman).
Who are your favorite fashion people to follow on Instagram?
New York City blogger @taza and Free People, @freepeople.
What’s your fashion philosophy?
Have fun with it. I think people are scared to try new things, and they care too much about what other people think.
What do you always have in your handbag?
Chapstick! I think I have five at all times.
Where is your favorite place to travel?
Washington, D.C. I love history and to be where the president lives and the constitution … it’s so cool! I also love the row houses.
What’s your favorite part of Fargo?
I love downtown Fargo and north Fargo – downtown for how it’s being built up as an arts community.
I’m a north Fargo girl, and I hope to someday buy a house there.
What are you looking forward to wearing this summer?
My brown flat-brimmed hat and long, flowy skirts.
