Inside Business: Dacotah Bank to build branch in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Dacotah Bank has received regulatory approval to establish a branch and offer banking services here.

The company has purchased land in the southern part of the city and plans to build an 8,000-square-foot bank near the Wal-Mart store south of Interstate 94 and west of U.S. Highway 281.

With the new bank in Jamestown, Dacotah Bank will have 34 locations across North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.

BCBSND, NDSCS offer job opportunities

WAHPETON, N.D. – Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota and the North Dakota State College of Science have partnered to increase employment and job development opportunities in Wahpeton and surrounding communities.

BCBSND will open a customer service office for employees on the NDSCS campus. BCBSND will lease existing space on the campus to house future customer service representatives who live in the Wahpeton area.

BCBSND is looking to hire as many as 10 new customer service representatives in the Wahpeton area who will make up the first training class to use the new space on the campus.

After the completion of their customer service training, the space will be transformed into an office for the new employees.

BCBSND will host a job fair for the new positions from 3 to 7 p.m. April 7 in the Tech Center on the NDSCS campus. Successful applicants will begin training and employment with BCBSND in late May.

FM Taxi Services offers automated scheduling

FM Taxi Services is now offering automated scheduling. Customers can book a taxi online at www.taxifargo.com or call or text (701) 353-2222.

The business was started in 2012 as FM Road Force and is owned by Abdoulie Barry.

DCN adds new servers

FARGO – Dakota Carrier Network facilities in Fargo and Bismarck now house Google, Netflix and YouTube servers, which reduce the amount of time required for videos to play and make Google applications run faster for DCN customers, according to a news release.

DCN, created in 1996, is owned by 15 North Dakota-based independent telecommunications companies, which serve more than 164,000 customers in about 250 communities.

Its corporate headquarters is in Fargo, and its Network Operations Center is in Bismarck.
