Thorson reaches milestone in Packers consolation win

MINOT, N.D. – Cassidy Thorson scored her 1,000th career point to lift West Fargo to a 67-49 win over Valley City in the consolation semifinals of the North Dakota Class A state girls basketball tournament.

Thorson, the East Region senior athlete of the year, finished with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Alison Enno added 11 points.

Century 64, Jamestown 60

Macy Lynch scored 22 of her game-high 30 points in the first half as Bismarck Century moved on to today’s fifth-place game against West Fargo.

Century, which clung to a five-point halftime lead, faced a small deficit late before roaring back to secure the win. Jordyn Jossart added 12 points.

Jamestown was led by seniors McKayla Orr and Paige Peterson, who finished with 23 and 22 points, respectively.
