Letter: Building decision suggests bigotryIn spite of strong urging by city staff, the Moorhead City Council voted to not allow evaluation of an option to meet the known needs of a low income, high density neighborhood (Centro building, Forum, March 11).
The parks and rec director stated that a building, to be made available by the state, would be a much-needed asset in an area where current assets are too small and kids need a place to go.
It is too bad that the structure doesn’t have a Norse boat or sugar beets incorporated into the mural on its wall. Then it would be a shrine and no encumbrance for preservation and upkeep would be too great, whether or not it benefited the community.
