Vikings re-sign DT Evans

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a one-year deal to keep defensive tackle Fred Evans, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

The Vikings were seeking to retain the veteran backup with defensive tackle Kevin Williams moving on as a free agent and 2013 first-round pick Sharrif Floyd set to step into a starting job.

Evans, 30, had 20 tackles while seeing action in 14 games last season. He will be entering his eighth season.
