Helpful hint: Clear cookies to help keep ticket prices low

When shopping for plane tickets, like many people, I’m looking for the lowest fare. So what’s happening when I come back to tickets I’ve looked at and the price has gone up?

Turns out, many travel websites use cookies, or small files storing information in your browser about your visits, to raise the price on tickets you’ve looked at previously, hoping you’ll pay more.

So how do you avoid this sleight of hand? Clear your cookies, or cache, before going back to the site. A Google search offers easy directions based on the type of browser you’re using. Or, simply use a browser or computer you don’t normally use for the transaction. Use the money saved for the trip ahead!
