Proper and Prim expands to MinneapolisFARGO – A locally owned downtown boutique is taking its wares to Uptown Minneapolis, too.
Proper and Prim, 315 Broadway, will open a store off Lyndale Avenue and 28th Street in Minneapolis this spring, said Ashlie O’Day, who will manage the store. Her sister, Teresa O’Day, owns Proper and Prim, which opened in October 2010.
The new store will have the same name, brands and target market as its Fargo counterpart, with maybe a few edgier, more fashion-forward pieces, Ashlie O’Day said.
“We try to keep all of our pieces unique and fun and different and not cookie cutter, and at the same time we keep everything super affordable,” she said.
O’Day said Proper and Prim has a lot of customers who grew up in Fargo but now live in Minneapolis, like her. She said she’s had her eye on the new location for about a year.
“We felt comfortable there was going to be a little bit of a following in Minneapolis,” O’Day said. “There aren’t too many places that are affordable, locally owned fashion in Minneapolis, so I think it will be a great addition.”
The store will likely open in May. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/Properandprim.
