Grand Forks woman accused of choking daughter

GRAND FORKS - A rural Grand Forks woman is accused of choking her daughter during a fight on Sunday, according to court records.

Therez Lynn Grady, 40, has been charged with aggravated assault, punishable by a maximum prison sentence of five years.

She made an initial appearance in state district court in Grand Forks Monday.

A Grand Forks County sheriff’s deputy went to their home at 2134 Clemetson St. N.E. around 8 p.m.

According to the deputy’s criminal complaint, Grady had grabbed her daughter by the wrist during an argument. When the daughter broke free, Grady grabbed her by the throat and led her to her bedroom. The daughter was pinned to the bed and had trouble breathing.

Deputies noticed what appeared to be a mark left by a thumb on the daughter’s neck.
