Fargo man pleads not guilty in fight with sister over toilet seat

FARGO – A Fargo man has pleaded not guilty to allegations he assaulted his sister and tried to take the phone away from her during a fight over whether he left the toilet seat up.

Thaddeus Sean Morgan, 24, pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Cass County District Court to one count of Class C felony interfering with a phone during an emergency call and one count of simple assault, a Class B misdemeanor.

Court documents say West Fargo police were called Feb. 24 to a fight at 431 4th Ave. E. Morgan’s sister, Cynthia Morgan, told police the fight started when she got angry at her brother for failing to put down the toilet seat.

Cynthia Morgan told police he pushed her, broke her glasses and grabbed the phone from her when she went to call 911.

Court documents say Thaddeus Morgan admitted interfering with the call, grabbing her wrists and pushing her, but said she had been throwing toys at him.

His next court appearance is set for April 2.
