Dem-NPL endorses Fargo School Board member for ND House

FARGO – A Fargo School Board member has received the endorsement of the state’s Democratic-Nonpartisan League to pursue one of two District 11 state House seats up for grabs in the June 10 primary.

Kris Wallman announced in press release that she received the ND Dem-NPL party endorsement at the district convention on Saturday.

Wallman works on public policy issues for the nonprofit Red River Valley Asperger-Autism Network. She was elected to a four-year term to the school board in 2010, but said she won’t seek re-election for that seat.

District 11 Rep. Scot Kelsh has said that he will not seek re-election. He has been in the House since 1996. The district’s other seat is held by first-term Rep. Ron Guggisberg. Both men are Democrats. Guggisberg has said he is seeking re-election.

The District 11 state Senate seat held by Democrat Tim Mathern is also up for election this year. Mathern has announced that he will seek re-election.

District 11 covers a portion of south Fargo that is east of Interstate 29 and north of Interstate 94.
